Best College Football Rivalries
This should create some conversation……
My opinion of the top 10 College Football rivalry games being played today:
1. OU vs Texas
2. Auburn vs Alabama
3. Ohio State vs Michigan
4. Florida State vs Miami
5. Georgia vs Florida
6. Notre Dame vs USC
7. Army vs Navy
8. Texas vs Texas A&M
9. Clemson vs South Carolina
10. Oregon vs Oregon State
Honorable mention:
OU vs Nebraska (but since this one is now done, I didn’t want it on the top ten list), Kansas vs Missouri, Auburn vs Georgia, Lehigh vs Lafayette (most played rivalry in college football history)
Who do you think is missing from the Top Ten list?
Great list! (Always enjoy your blog.) BUT remember, it’s Alabama vs. Auburn. Alabama always, I say always, comes first!
Very good list Brad. I would say that the Bayou Classic (Southern University v Grambling State University), the only HBCU game carried for 15 years live by NBC should be on this list.

As an avid FSU fan and alum, it depends on what Seminole you talk to, but I would actually say that as many if not more fans would say our rivalry with UF has more hatred and bitterness than our rivalry with UM. I would say they are about equal. It would be really hard to pick one that would be bigger than the other. Partly because so many NC’s have been decided by that game. Same with UM, but with UF being our last game of the year, over the years it tends to be more influential in the CFB landscape NC picture. Not in the last few years mind you:) but in the last 15-20.
South Carolina vs. Clemson rivalry is the longest uninterrupted football rivalry in the South and 3rd longest uninterrupted rivalry in college football. Go Cocks!!! List is good…can’t wait for college football season!
Agreeing with Ross, I would put Florida St vs. Florida in there as well. Miami is a big game, but Florida St vs. Florida is bigger.
Tennessee verses Alabama in a long traditional rival!
Being a Buckeyes fan, I personally think OSU vs. Michigan is the greatest rivalry. It will especially be big this year, both teams have new coaches. I can’t wait for college football, especially if we don’t have a full NFL season.
