The evolution of communication
Communication happens all the time, and has happened for a long time. Literally since the beginning of time. My take in terms of the advancement over time of the way we communicate.
1. Face to Face (verbal and non-verbal)
2. Written
3. Print
4. Phone
5. Radio
6. TV
7. Fax
8. Computer
9. Internet
10. Smart Phone (texting)
6 out of the 10 have been created in the last 100 years. What am I missing? What’s next? Person to person without being face to face and through no device?? Telepathy?
Love this list! Not so sure about the person to person but not face to face..kind of strange to think about.
we’re close already with face time on iphones…… it is weird to think about though!
Pretty soon we will just teleport (through our iPhones) wherever we want to go in the world. The airline business is going to hate us
yes!
Good insight Brad.
What about in remote areas? smoke signals, drums beats, even the Lord of the Rings clip where they lit the fires in towers to warn others of coming Orcs.
OK, maybe a bit unrealistic.
True, sound and sight would definitely be two other areas of communication over the course of mankind.
Drum beats, horns, etc. And smoke signals and fire would definitely fit.
good thoughts Kary!!
Don’t forget what Kramer predicted way back in the day on Seinfeld. One day we’ll all be connected. You’ll just have to think about the person & BANG you’re talking to them!
one of my favorite scenes from all of the Seinfeld’s over the years!! nice call.
