Today (Wednesday) January 20th at 4 pm EST, there will be a 45 minute conference call with Wess Stafford, President of Compassion International, and Andy Stanley and Craig Groeschel. You are invited to participate.

Hear how your church/organization can help. And hear how we can partner together with the 225 churches in Haiti that are involved with Compassion and will spearhead relief efforts.

Participate by calling 1-800-698-9012.

Visit here to download resources your church can use.

Also on the call will be Compassion’s VP of Latin America, who will give a first hand update on the situation in Haiti and how Compassion is organizing response efforts.

Hey Brad….as I was listening in on that conference call I had a random thought. Andy mentioned that some churches and people will think their contribution can’t do anything, because of how great the need is. I know that thought crossed my mind as my wife and I gave to Compassion.

My random thought is, what if someone with connections like Catalyst has could create a website that communicated how much churches and Christians were giving to support Haiti. That site could pull information from Christian organizations about how much they have received, but also give church leaders and individuals the opportunity to submit how much they and their church gave.

It wouldn’t be completely accurate, and it would have nothing to do with pride or being able to say “look what we did”. It would be about unity. Clearly showing that we can do far more together than we could ever do alone, and that every gift matters. It could also help to continue waving the flag for this cause long after it’s off the news and people’s minds.

It could also be a hub for information about supporting Haiti as well as a place to share stories via comments/video, etc.

Sorry about writing a book on your blog….
